Well, I’m back I guess…
Once again I’m going to try my hand at online blogging. I’m not going to make any promises about posting daily, but I will try to post when I have something that I think is significant enough to blog about. I’ve done this in the past on various sites. For a while I’ve been successful at it, but then the inevitable happens: either I get too busy doing other things, too lazy to update it, or some combination of the two.
Rather than try to rehash what has been going on in my life since I last blogged anything, I’m just going to start fresh. If anyone out there actually cares enough to read this, then they already know me well enough to fill in the gaps.
Yesterday was quite a busy day. I spent most of it writing code and was able to get a lot of stuff accomplished. Due to circumstances beyond my control I’m going to be developing in Visual Basic 6 for the rest of the year instead of a more modern language like C#. I’ve groused about it, but it isn’t going to change, so I’ve accepted it and embraced it. I figure that it’s not going to result in anything positive if I make a big deal about it, and most likely will result in something negative, both externally and internally.
I’ve started working on H’s dollhouse again this week. Right now I’m working on framing up the windows on the front of the house. For each one I’m building the window casings and the grids by hand, which is a very tedious and time-consuming process. I really like how they are turning out so far. Each night after the kids go to bed I’m trying to work on the house and I set myself a time-limit (done by 8:30).
Waiting for my turn in our online Fantasy Football draft (I’m next after Andy’s pick). Since I’m 10th (out of 10) in the draft order I get two picks in a row. In rounds 1 & 2 I took Steven Jackson (STL) and Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) respectively. Our league is a keeper league so I’m pretty happy getting young, quality players to start out with. I’m not sure who I’m going to take next. It will depend on who Andy takes. Since he lives in Ohio and likes the Bungles I’m predicting he takes Carson Palmer. If he doesn’t, I may grab him. It’s also curious that Domanick Davis and Anquan Boldin are still on the board.
