Blogging from Pocket PC
June 12, 200810:34 AM
My computer has been acting really slow the last couple of days and finally locked up on me. Right now I’m in the process of rebooting; I couldn’t even close the applications I had open.
I’m composing this on my Pocket PC. I’ve played around with the various input methods and have settled on "block entry" mode; I’ve gotten pretty fast at entering in text with it.
Theoretically when I cradle this (which is being written in Pocket Word) I should be able to dump this right into Live Writer.
If you’re reading this you’ll know it worked.
Tuesday
April 22, 2008Yesterday was spent getting re-acclimated to work. I was pretty well exhausted by the time I got home. I enjoyed bringing the kids out into the cul-de-sac to ride their bikes for an hour or so. Yesterday afternoon/evening was treated with Rollins and ice cream.
I’m struggling right now to figure out my role in my current project. It’s a very delicate and tricky thing right now.
Convalescence (Day 1)
April 4, 2008So I’m off work as of today. I’m not sure how long I’ll be out; probably at least through next Tuesday when I am seeing an orthopedic doctor for evaluation and possible MRI.
Back and legs are sore this morning. Slept alright (on my back with two pillows under my knees). Going to try and move around as much as I feel like to keep from getting too stiff. Yesterday evening I just shuffled back and forth down the hall for 10 minutes
FireFox 3 Beta 5 Available
April 2, 2008FireFox 3 Beta 5 is available at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html. I like it a lot so far although my FF2 extensions don’t work with it and I’m having trouble with WordPress’ “New Post” feature (so for now I’m posting from MS Word).
I like the location bar feature a lot.
Back update
April 2, 2008Had a session with my physical therapist today. It went well and I’m going to be continuing with the therapy for the time being. On Tuesday I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon to see about getting an MRI.
Google Docs Can be Edited Offline
April 1, 2008Slashdot | Google Docs Aims At Microsoft Office Live:
Channel News reports that Google took an important step forward Monday in its rivalry with Microsoft Office Live, reporting that Google Docs will allow users to edit word processing documents offline. Google said users of its Google Docs word processing application can use Google Gears to save and then edit documents without being connected to the Internet. ‘The offline capability will be limited to word processing documents, though the company plans to add it to spreadsheets and presentations in the future.’
